

Anaerobic Training
The anaerobic system uses carbs in the form of blood glucose & stored glycogen to produce ATP….. Taking you back to high school science. Hence its name: Glycolytic system (or lactic energy system) So when I say carbs are our main source of energy, this is applying to this energy system. We need them! As a college runner, our coaches were always educating us about these systems because you can overtrain one and not see the results you’re looking for. This can make working out seems super stressful, or complicated, but really, take it with a grain of salt and just … start. If cardio is your go-to, resistance training 1-2x week can help boost your stamina, power, and decrease the risk of injury as we get older. Either way, the payoff is becoming a FUNCTIONAL human being, no matter what age. and that really is win win.
